Users who are familiar with the pointer sprinkler know that the sprinkler head number is gradually arranged from a small size. In general, the closer the sprinkler head number is to the center point, the smaller the nozzle number and the larger the nozzle, as we all know. But what does nozzle 20, nozzle 21 mean? What is the diameter of the sprinkler head?
In fact, the nozzle number of the Austrian Komet is the same as that of the American Nelson, and the diameter of the nozzle number 20 is 20/128 inches, that is, (20/128)*25.4mm=3.97mm. The same is true for the calculation of nozzle 21 diameter.
Careful friends will also find that some manufacturers of the last nozzle number background color is the color of the next nozzle body!

The sprinkler manufacturer will design a professional nozzle configuration table for you according to the actual water intake of the sprinkler, the inlet pressure, the length of the sprinkler, the pipe diameter of the sprinkler, the type of nozzle, the height of the nozzle, and the spacing of the sprinkler heads. However, in practical applications, due to weak professionalism, weak sense of responsibility and other factors, some manufacturers will be randomly configured. In this case, the configuration table does not guarantee the uniformity of irrigation.
Second, the larger the nozzle atomization index, the better?
Often listen to customers say that a nozzle atomization is good, it will be more uniform, and the spraying effect is good. Is that right?
Let's take a look at the definition of atomization indicators. Atomization index is an index that reflects the impact strength of water droplets in sprinkler irrigation. It represents the characteristic value of the ratio of the nozzle working pressure to the nozzle diameter. The impact of water droplet impact on soil penetration is a factor that needs to be seriously considered. If the impact of water droplets on the soil is small, it is easy to keep the soil capillary open and keep the soil water absorption high. Small drops of water facilitate the penetration of clay.
For example, the impact strength of the Komet20 sprinkler head under a 15PSI regulator is:
15PSI/3.97mm equals approximately 2518.
If we expand the pressure regulator to 20PSI, the atomization index will be larger. But it does not mean that the larger the atomization index, the better. Since the spray water drops at high altitude in the air, its movement is greatly affected by the wind. Wind energy significantly changes the range, thereby changing the shape of the area controlled by the nozzle and the distribution of water (sprinkler uniformity). The larger the atomization index, the smaller the water droplets sprayed. When the relative humidity of the air is low and the wind speed is high, some water droplets are blown out of the irrigation area or directly evaporated before landing, resulting in air evaporation and drift loss. Theoretically, the larger the atomization index, the greater the drift loss.
Third, is the northwest really not suitable for large sprinklers?
As we all know, the northwest of China has little rainfall, strong wind, large evaporation, and large drift loss of sprinkler irrigation, which has no obvious advantages compared with drip irrigation. But if you grow a large area, planting crops are intensive crops, such as alfalfa, wheat, etc., drip irrigation can not meet the requirements economically, at this time through some measures to change the nozzle, you can still use the sprinkler.
The use of the sprinkler head greatly reduces the drift loss in the spraying process and improves the water utilization coefficient.
Do you know what a pressure regulator does?
The role of the pressure regulator is to adjust the inlet pressure changes caused by water pressure loss, poor terrain and pump conditions to the design working pressure.
The advantages of installing a pressure regulator are: improving irrigation uniformity; Effective control of sprinkler performance, such as water drop size and spraying distance; Increase the flexibility of sprinkler irrigation system; Slope irrigation is more effective if a pressure regulator is installed.
